Oakfield Park

Oakfield Park’s award-winning gardens and parklands are the perfect place to spend a day out in Donegal. The park’s crowning glory is the narrow-gauge railway offering a magical way to explore the park’s gardens, boardwalks, hedge maze and sparkling streams and lakes.

This summer saw the first ever Oakfest – a two-day festival of music, food and family fun. Thousands of people attended and experienced the headline acts as well as jazz in the garden and music in the maze. A fantastic range of activities gave people of all ages an opportunity to enjoy a memorable family experience in the perfect backdrop of Oakfield Park.

Lurgybrack Open Farm

Lurgybrack Open Farm is a family attraction that has everything for a family day out; farm animals, indoor and outdoor play areas, water slide, barrel train and a café and tea room. The centuries old farm building is home to a range of friendly farm animals that children can get close to and learn about.

The Open Farm is a popular venue for school trips and also hosts children’s parties. Children of all ages love all the activities especially the animals and all the family enjoy the space to play safely, wander by the riverside, or just sit back and unwind with a tasty snack from the tea room.

Off the Street LK Food Fest

Off The Street LK Food Fest was initiated by Christopher Molloy, Jimmy Stafford and Derek Walker. It is a local community festival that showcases Donegal food by giving local producers a platform to promote their produce and building a Street Food culture. Featuring dozens of food exhibitors, chef demonstrations and local music each event has attracted 5000 attendees.

Organised with virtually no funding, Off The Street LK Food Fest was created by people who are passionate about creating a food culture in Donegal and supporting local business and the result is an event that has is set to become the highlight of the summer events calendar.
