SHEA Malone was relieved to see Naomh Conaill defeat Glenswilly and book their spot back in the County Final in a fortnight’s time.
Naomh Conaill know the build-up to the big day very well but this semi-final was a real struggle for Malone and his teammates.
They were behind from early in the match but battled back impressively.
Malone admitted that not everything went his way but he finished with eight points as Naomh Conaill came good in extra-time.
“It was an absolute battle.
“It’s hard to put into words.
“We have probably been there now a few times when you are kind of put to the swords in the last few minutes.
“You just don’t want to panic or do anything silly.
“I did plenty of that today but you don’t want to do anything that you usually wouldn’t.
“Thankfully we didn’t and we got even and did the business then in extra-time.”
