This time of year can be very taxing…

The Summer is truly a distant memory as the team at The Tax Clinic knuckle down to face their busiest time of year. The clocks are ticking towards an important date – The upcoming pay-and-file deadline of October 31, the date by which taxpayers must file their return for 2017. So does the idea of doing your taxes make your tummy rumble? Do you even know where to start? At The Tax Clinic we specialise in completing tax returns for small businesses and PAYE workers with additional income.

Michael is originally from Emyvale in Co Monaghan. He is married with two children aged three and two. He is an early riser and usually gets up around 5am every morning for a quick run or gym session. His claim to fame is that he made an appearance on the Bibi Baskin show Irish dancing when he was 12. He is a partner and founding member of The Tax Clinic. Michael is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser. He has particular expertise and knowledge regarding the taxation of PAYE workers and the self-employed. He is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute and the Irish Payroll Association (IPASS), having obtained and overall distinction in the qualifying exams.

Stephen comes from Carrick and now lives in Letterkenny. If he wasn’t working for The Tax Clinic he would be a centre half for Manchester United. Stephen is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant and is currently studying to become a Chartered Tax Adviser with the Irish Tax Institute. He provides accounting, tax compliance and business support to all clients.

Noel is a Killybegs man in every way and that explains his love of fishing. He travelled to Norway this year and landed a 40lb cod. He is married with two sons and a daughter and has a two-year old grandson. Noel has been a Chartered Accountant since 1982. He specialises in financial reviews, business development and consultancy. Noel is also the principal of Noel O’Donnell & Co Chartered Accountants.

Mabel McHugh comes from Kilcar and lives in Ardara with her husband and 12- year-old son. She is a crazy GAA fan and travels the country following the Donegal team. Mabel is a partner and founding member of The Tax Clinic. She has worked and managed an accountancy practice for over 20 years. Mabel has particular expertise and knowledge regarding the responsibilities and taxation of the self-employed. She is a member of the Irish Taxation Institute having obtained an overall distinction in the qualifying exams.
