Plans lodged to revamp popular Letterkenny pub

ONE of Letterkenny’s most popular bars could be set for a revamp after plans were lodged to transform the pub.

Applicants Michael and Mark Blaney submitted proposals to Donegal County Council on April 22 to renovate and refurbish the Central Bar, Upper Main Street in Letterkenny.

If given the go-ahead, the pub could see a new rear extension into new side extension of existing central bar and lounge to form a new bar,
lounge, kitchen and accessible toilets.

Proposals also include the renovation and refurbishment of the existing ground floor area of existing building, formerly used as commercial premises and last known use as a betting office, demolition of rear flat roof area, a lowering of the floor level and surrounding ground level of existing ground floor level area of the existing building.

Plans also comprise the erection of a new rear extension to the existing ground floor area of the existing building, formerly used as commercial premises and last known use as a betting office.

A conversion of existing ground floor space into an off licence area is also contained in the proposals.

Submissions are being accepted until Sunday, May 26, 2024.
