Letterkenny woman’s exhibition to launch this week in An Grianán

LETTERKENNY artist, Audrey Henry, will offically launch her exhibition ‘Dear Donegal’ on Friday, November 10 at 6pm in An Grianán Theatre.

The exhibition features a series of oil paintings of Donegal landscapes painted across the seasons, from the rebirth of spring and summer growth to the cold and decline of autumn and winter.

Audrey’s process involves taking photos and sketches on location and then creating art in her home studio in Ballyraine, Letterkenny, where she has a mini gallery, suitable for gifts.

She shows the seasons through her subtle use of texture and colour, her thick impasto style lending itself to the rugged scenery and natural beauty of her home county.

A native of Letterkenny, Audrey studied Graphic Design in LYIT before completing a BA Hons degree in the University of Ulster, Belfast in Visual Communication.

Audrey then worked as a Graphic Designer for many years, before returning to college to study Fine Art.

The exhibition will continue until December 22 and is open from Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3.30pm.

If you cannot make the exhibition but are interested in visiting Audrey’s mini gallery, viewings are by appointment only. Those interested in a viewing are urged to call 086 8429827.
