Thirty jobs at Dungloe factory

OVER seventy potential employees attended a careers open day at Randox Teoranta last weekend.

There are up to 30 positions currently available in the various departments in the Dungloe location.

The recruitment drive is a result of the increase in manufacturing at the factory where diagnostic machines are built from scratch before being dispatched across the world.

During the open day the prospective employees were given a tour of the factory and all of its state-of-the-art facilities.

Those who attended learnt of the various roles there are in supporting the increased manufacturing at the factory, such as administration, engineering and scientific roles.

Susan Mc Fadden, the Manufacturing Operations Manager in Dungloe, said there was great feedback from those who attended the event.

The open day’s success can be gauged from the amount of CV’s Randox have already received in the days following the event.

When the company first opened the doors at their Donegal location in 2009 Ms McFadden was amongst the first ten people employed. There are now over 120 employees.

“The owner Doctor FitzGerald just keeps expanding, we are creating new manufacturing lines all the time and we are constantly growing the factory. We have nearly every inch of it used at this stage,” she said.

Ms McFadden told the Donegal News that a great calibre of people came through the door on Saturday. This included a number of people who are currently working in Dublin and Galway and are looking to relocate back home.

“From briefly talking to some of the department heads after the event, we are feeling very hopeful and confident.

“We just have to make sure that we get those CV’s in so we can convert them into actual roles and we can fill the positions,” Ms Mc Fadden added.

The vacancies in Dungloe have been extended and available in the careers section at www.randox.com
