COUNTY Donegal will be the focus in the first of a series of nine Féilte programmes on TG4 showcasing the Wild Atlantic Way.

In partnership with Fáilte Ireland, the series is targeting potential Irish holidaymakers and encouraging them to get out and discover the wonders of the Wild Atlantic Way. The crew are filming for the next three days across the county.

Each episode will feature local food, festivals, activities and examples of the varied accommodation on offer along the 2,500km route. The series will air in July.

Speaking about the series, Maire-Aine Gardiner from Fáilte Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way team said: “The Wild Atlantic Way is one of our most ambitious tourism projects ever. Over the last 18 months much focus has been placed on showcasing the route to potential visitors overseas and now we need to ensure that Irish people who are considering holidaying at home over the summer months are fully aware of everything that the touring route has to offer.

“This series, which is highlighting all the counties along the route, has provided a great promotional opportunity for the local tourism trade in County Donegal.”
