Standby aircraft brought in to ease pressures

A STANDBY aircraft has been brought in to try resolve the problems that have grounded multiple flights between Donegal and Dublin.

Passengers have faced days of disruption due to what Emerald Airlines has described as “technical issues” with some of its planes.

A Department of Transport spokesperson told the Donegal News last night that an additional plane has now been brought in to help ease the pressure on staff and passengers.

“The Department is aware of the recent disruption to services between Donegal and Dublin,” they said.

“It is extremely unfortunate that a technical difficulty with the designated aircraft on this route resulted in a number of cancelled flights last week with affected passengers being offered coach transfers to Dublin or accommodation on the next available flight.”
