Spooky goings on this Halloween at Kinnegar Brewing

Last year’s Winterland Market set the tone for an ever-expanding calendar of interesting activities being programmed at Kinnegar Brewing’s unique venue at Ballyraine, Letterkenny.

Widely acclaimed as well run, relaxed and family-friendly events, they’re proving popular with locals and visitors alike.

“Our Taproom is a really comfortable, modern space for enjoying a few early evening pints of fresh beer after work or with the family on a Saturday afternoon”, explains Kinnegar’s Sean McCarthy.

“Our regular brewery tours are the foundation block of our events programme but there’s much, much more.”

“For special events like Halloween Harvest, we use part of the production floor to give us enough space for games like Pumpkin Cornhole, as well as table tennis”, explains co-owner Rick LeVert.

“We used this space for the Earagail Arts Festival launch with music, a lively little comedy evening in August, and for our sustainable fashion Clothes Switch event last week.

“This Saturday our covered garden will host pumpkin carving activities for our Halloween Harvest event so bring the children and dress warmly!”

Ellen Hegarty welcomes visitors to the Kinnegar Taproom

Last Easter’s phenomenally successful Kinnegar Dog Show took place on the brewery’s front lawn, right in front of the Taproom. For Kinnegar’s biggest events like Winterland Market in December, the warehouse area can accommodate a diverse collection of stalls offering a fascinating range of locally produced food and gifts.

“It’s amazing how a stark industrial shed can be transformed into a funky and friendly venue with a little bit of creativity and effort,” Sean explains.

“I think Letterkenny really appreciates the brewery,” he continues. “There’s a real sense of belonging here, and families are grateful for an interesting venue where they can have a pint from the Taproom and enjoy themselves with their children in a safe environment.”

Check out www.kinnegarbrewing.ie for updates on events. The brewery offers ample parking and it’s also well served by the Local Link 300 bus service to the Ramelton/Rathmullan/Fanad area.

If you can’t make Saturday’s Halloween Harvest, you can visit the Taproom for weekly pints, board games and a lovely atmosphere, Thursday to Saturday, 1–7pm.
