Services ‘back on track’ at airport after weekend flight cancellations

SERVICES are ‘back on track’ at Donegal Airport following cancellations over the busy bank holiday weekend.

A spokesperson for Emerald Airlines confirmed that two flights were cancelled from Donegal – Dublin, due to a technical difficulty with the designated aircraft.

Éilis Docherty is Managing Director of Donegal Airport. She told the Donegal News that such cancellations are not unusual for any airline, but it was unfortunate the “blip” happened during a busy bank holiday.

In a statement the airline provider said, “We are aware that this service is critical to many of those in the North-West region.

“We continue to work relentlessly to restore the punctuality and reliability of our Donegal service, upholding our Completion Rate of 97 per cent.

“Passengers affected by these cancellations were offered coach transfers to Dublin or accommodation on the next available flight. Emerald Airlines apologises for any inconvenience caused to our customers.”

Donegal Airport is happy that the service was recovered promptly and that operations are “back to normal again”.
