Rory & The Island head on national tour

Rory Gallagher.

FOLLOWING two dates in his native Donegal last weekend, Kilcar’s Rory Gallagher set off on his nationwide tour this week, promoting his new album Auntie Depressant & Uncle Hope.

The last time Rory was back from Lanzarote, people just wanted to hear one song – Jimmy’s Winning Matches – and the popular singer happily obliged as the song became the anthem of Donegal’s second All-Ireland win and even made Captain Michael Murphy’s speech.

On this month’s ten-date tour, the Kilcar man will be performing all around the country from Derry, Dublin, Galway and all the way down to Cork.

Rory is a fantastic songwriting talent and his latest album showcases this with fabulous pop songs such as Colours, Champagne Lifestyle on Coca Cola Wages, the Battle to Stay Positive and Waiting for the Sun which deserve to be in any record collection.

All five singles Rory & the Island released have been playlisted on national radio. Rory & the Island is now starting to break into the UK with airplay on BBC radio and a number of regional commercial stations.

This is a singer-songwriter who has done the hard graft, grown up in public and this collection of new songs will see Rory and the Island create a sound quite unlike anything else in the music scene at the minute.

Auntie Depressant and Uncle Hope is now available from all good stores, digitally and online at www.roryandtheisland.com, where you will also find all tour dates.
