Moves to restore Old Market sign

THE sign for the old Corn Market at Lower Main Street which reads ‘Letterkenny Market 1852’ could be in line for a facelift.

At Tuesday’s Letterkenny/Milford Municipal District meeting Cllr Jimmy Kavanagh called for the sign to be restored.

He told members it was a stopping point on the town walking route and was talked about on the walk.

“It is a small thing but maybe it could be done through the Tidy Towns,” he added.

Cllr Gerry McMonagle seconded the motion.

In response the executive said they would approach different groups “to see if it can be arranged”.
