Tutored by industry professionals, the courses offer practical experience of studio engineering, live performance, recording, songwriting, festival management, creative design and television production – ideal for anyone wanting to make their mark on the creative industries.

The Music Production course will help students get to grips with the latest digital recording technology – everything from programming, recording and mixing to mastering music and audio in various genres. For those with a passion in music, graphic design, film-making, video art or digital photography, the Creative Media course is designed to give a working knowledge of the industry and its software.

The Nerve Centre’s Music Performance & Technology course is aimed at budding performers with modules that will enhance song-writing skills, knowledge of digital sound composition, mixing and live sound.

Finally, the Media Techniques: Television & Video course will give students the opportunity to work on a diverse range of productions, from short films and promotional videos to playing a key role in the renowned Foyle Film Festival. The full-time courses are ‘OCN NI Level 3 Certificate in Creative Arts and Digital Technologies’ and are run in partnership with South West College. Successful completion of the course will allow students to advance to third level education.

Michael Butter, a recent graduate said: ‘I had a great time on the course. I was able to learn about a wide variety of topics, and gained experience in areas I would never have had the opportunity to otherwise. The course covers a lot in a short space of time, which is only a good thing, because with the top-of-the range facilities, open and friendly atmosphere, and committed tutors, each class is a pleasure!’ All courses will run from September 2015 to June 2016.
