Maghery’s Baby Lucy fund-raiser brings in €7,000

A FUND-raising function was held in Maghery Community Centre earlier this month in aid of the Dermatology Unit at Our Ladys Childrens Hospital Crumlin.

The organiser of the big night were James Barrett and Davey McCarron and their inspiration was baby Lucy Gallagher.

Lucy is a beautiful little baby girl from Maghery who was born with a skin condition known has harlequinn ichthyosis. She spent her first eight months in Our Ladys Children’s Hospital and the fund-raiser is to help Lucy and many other sick children and families who are dependent on the dermatology team and unit in Crumlin.

A number of local artists performed on the night with a very special guest in Daniel O Donnell.

The organisers woud like to say a big thank you to all who helped out including Over The Hill, PJ Sweeney,  Pauric McGrath, Paddy McMenamin,  The Meenacross Comhaltas, The Maghery Choir Group featuring Pauling Glackin, Gavin Boyle, Tony and Anne Croke, Adam Croke, Eimear Furlong, Kenneth Campbell and Shauna McCafferey, The Colemans, John Staunton and Annette Griffin and a special thanks also to Daniel O Donnell.
MC for the Night was PJ Sweeney.

Thanks also to Dominick Sweeney who looked after sound and lighting. Thanks also to the Maghery Centre for supplying the venue, to all our sponsors who kindly donated prizes for the night.

A total amount of €7,000 was raised for the Dermatology Unit.
