Their repertoire is extremely varied, including gospel songs and spirituals alongside many other uplifting songs from popular culture.

The choir, which features members from all over the county, has performed alongside many well-known artists such as Bronagh Gallagher, Duke Special, Declan O’Rouke and were only just singing with Belfast’s up and coming Silhouette in the recent Belfast Music week.

Anna Nolan, Musical Director, said: “The choir is such a great thing to be part of. It offers unique experiences to adults and children that they might not have thought possible.

“In the current recession, the choir really gives local people something positive to be proud of.

“I am pleased that we are currently attracting so many younger members, they really add to the energy of the choir and it definitely helps them develop musically.

“I would urge anyone who wants to develop their voice, gain confidence singing and take part in some great events to get in contact.”

The Inishowen Gospel Choir was founded in 2005 as a community choir and since has gone from strength to strength representing the area’s musical talent at events all over Ireland, the UK and internationally.
