ON Thursday night, December 27, one of Donegal’s hottest bands will bring a very special year to a close with their first headline concert at An Grianán Theatre, Letterkenny.

Last September’s gig of the year, the band’s launch of their second EP Cellars was an indication of the great things to come from In Their Thousands.

As they took three busloads of fans from Letterkenny to Ballyheerin in Fanad, In Their Thousands provided a memorable night as their launched their album in the coolest shed in Donegal surrounded by friends, family and music fans.

What followed was a series of concerts all around the country, during which the band honed the live sound of their songs which would eventually win over the judges during the grand final of Guinness Arthur’s Day Play On The Day of Whelan’s in Dublin last month.

The band recently were featured on TG4’s top youth programme Ponc (with more to come), supported Duke Special at An Grianán and are now set for the own big night.

It is sure to be a fantastic night which will be opened by the very talented Rosie Carney (15) from Carrigart who is also attracting a lot of interest from the music industry.

On December 31 they will be joining forces with fellow Donegal bands Mark Black & The Trips, Heads Of State and The Capitol for a very special New Year’s Eve celebration at the Greenroom, Lower Main Street, for what will surely be the most sought after ticket in town.
