Earagail Arts: Kinnegar Brewing & Rathmullan House present: Follow the Hops

EAF Kinnegar

KINNEGAR Brewing and Rathmullan House present two evenings of great Donegal music and great Donegal beer on the grounds of Rathmullan House.

On Thursday 17 July, Rosguill musicians Sarah E Cullen and Declan McClafferty (In Their Thousands) duet for an evening of soulful roots acoustic music delivered with vocal harmonies.

Country, jazz, traditional and bluegrass are all represented in a diverse set of clever cover versions and original compositions.
Having first played music together at traditional sessions in rural pubs, the pair then began playing some small sets and support slots.

On Thursday 24 July, Lorraine McCauley and The Borderlands perform. Singer-songwriter Lorraine McCauley’s voice draws you in with its ethereal expressive quality, and even at its gentlest, the strength in her voice is compelling, easily able to hold its own in the context of the endlessly fascinating and inventive soundscapes her band creates around her songs. Steeped in authenticity and left bank tendencies, Lorraine McCauley and The Borderlands bring a powerful new voice and perspective to modern folk and roots music.

Brewery tours take place each evening from 5.00pm – 6.30pm and the concerts are at 8pm. The tour includes a small amount of tasting which helps guests appreciate the influence that different malts, hops and yeast have on the flavour profile and general character of individual beers.

Tour participants receive a token for a free beer at the brewery’s taproom in the Cellar Bar at nearby Rathmullan House. Spaces are limited for tours. There’s a shuttle to the brewery and back from Rathmullan House. Tickets €10.

Earagail Arts Festival is funded by The Arts Council of Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Donegal County Council. All tickets can be booked at An Grianan Theatre on 00353 74 9120777 or online at eaf.ie.
