A DUBLIN singer who has been making a big name for himself over the past two years has just released his latest single and is looking forward to visiting his mother’s native Donegal as part of his busy summer schedule.

Eoin Glackin will be part of this year’s Sea Sessions line-up, performing on the Vodafone stage at the Bundoran festival on June 29. The affable Dubliner’s mother Eileen is originally from Ramelton and Eoin is the grandson of the late Tudy and Kathleen McDaid of Aughnish Road.

Last week Eoin was travelling around the northwest promoting his latest single Everyone Is Goin’, taken from his second album Rain Finally Came, on regional radio stations.

Everyone Is Goin’ pays tribute to Irish influences of Eoin’s such as The Pogues to some of his country heroes like, Kris Kristofferson and Steve Earle. The result is an upbeat folk rocker and a great example of Eoin’s unique storytelling abilities, an ode to the forever restless.

Having left home when he was just out of school, Eoin moved to London to try and forge a path as a singer/songwriter. Playing all the clubs and pubs that would have him, he caught the attention of London based Spirit Music & Media.

They set up some studio time with London based producer Ian Grimble (Manic Street Preachers, The Clash, Beth Orton, Red Hot Chilli Peppers) who has produced Eoin’s two albums to-date.

2014 will see Eoin shine bright with an Irish tour and a move into other territories, tours are planned later this year in the UK, Germany and the US. www.eoinglackin.com
