Donegal driver caught speeding on National Slow Down Day

A Donegal driver was among those caught speeding this morning on National Slow Down Day.

In the first 2 hours of National Slow Down Day, GoSafe checked the speed of 36,679 vehicles and detected 69 vehicles travelling in excess of the applicable speed limit.

A was vehicle detected driving 113km per hour in a 100km per hour zone on the N15 in Drumnagahan.

An Garda Síochána continues to appeal to drivers to comply with speed limits in order to reduce the number of speed related collisions, save lives and reduce injuries on our roads.

National Slow Down Day takes place from 7am today (Tuesday the 28th of February) to 7am tomorrow (Wednesday the 1st of March). An Garda Síochána will be conducting speed checks around the country.
