Dermot Byrne and Floriane Blancke concert in Dunlewey

THE weekly series of summer concerts at Ionad Cois Locha in Dunlewey, Trad Trathnóna, continues this Tuesday, August 12, with one of the fine button accordion players in the world today.

As well as being a member of award-winning trad superstars Altan, Dermot Byrne has collaborated with some of the finest musicians in the world and his self-titled album is one of the ‘bibles’ of the genre.

Dermot will be joined by Floriane Blancke on this occasion for the concert series hosted by non-profit organisation, Tionscnamh Lugh.

Hailing from France, Floriane is a talented harpist, fiddler, pianist and vocalist who has embraced into Irish Traditional Music circles over the past number of years.

The grand-daughter of Jazz musician Stanislas Suranyi, her music has been greatly influenced by this native Hungarian Gypsy style, and of Martha Blancke, Classical French Violinist.
