Dangerous road at Glenmaquin school

THE state of the road at Glenmaquin Crossroads and school led to two councillors putting forward motions on the issue at Tuesday’s meeting of Letterkenny Milford MD.

Cllrs Donal Coyle and Michael McBride both called on the council to resurface the brown tar which has worn off the road.

“This is not the first time I raised this issue. Just three weeks ago, on the Convoy road, a resident’s car came down and hit a car coming from Convoy and pushed it into the barrier of the school. Both Gardai and emergency services.

“By the grace of God no one was killed. This junction has become a serious health and safety issue,” he added.

In response to the issue raised by both councillors the executive replied: “An assessment has been carried out on this location and it has been established that improvement works are required. It is planned to include this location on the Draft Priority list for 2024 Restoration

Improvement programme to be presented to the members for their consideration in early January 2024.”
