Mass this evening for Donegal crash survivor

MASS will be offered this evening in St Connell’s Church, Glenties, for Naomh Conail player Cian Doherty who is being treated in Dublin’s Mater Hospital following a road accident on Wednesday.

It’s understood that Cian sustained serious injuries while travelling to work. Well-wishers describe the young man as a talented GAA defender who previously represented Donegal at underage level, and has been a reliable player for his club in recent seasons.

Naomh Conaill posted their well wishes for Cian on social media, saying:

“On Wednesday morning our senior player Cian Doherty was involved in a road traffic accident while on his way to work. Cian sustained serious injuries and is currently a patient in the Mater Hospital, Dublin.

“All Cian’s teammates and everyone at Naomh Conaill wish Cian a full recovery. All our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Cian and we hope to see you back among us as soon as possible.

Fr Gerard Cunningham will celebrate the mass this evening in St Connell’s Church, Glenties, at 19:30. Prayers will be said for Cian’s recovery and healing and all are welcome.
