ONE of American country music’s most respected artists, Kimmie Rhodes, makes a welcome return to Ballybofey on Sunday week.

Described by the great Rodney Crowell as having ‘the soul of a poet and the voice of an angel’, Kimmie has an impressive pedigree.
A native Texan, she began her singing career at the age of six with her family gospel choir. She moved to Austin and recorded her first album in 1981 when Willy Nelson invited her to use his studio.

A prolific artist she has recorded 15 albums over the years. Her multi-platinum selling songs have been recorded by stellar acts such as Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Mark Knopfler and Emmylou Harris and the list of artists she has collaborated with reads like a Who’s Who of American country music.

Conor Malone, Balor Arts Centre, said: “It’s the guts of two years since she last played here in The Balor. It was an excellent gig notable for the amount of musicians in the audience which is always a good sign.”

Kimmie Rhodes plays The Balor Arts Centre, Ballybofey on Sunday, March 22 at 8pm with tickets available from The Balor Box Office on 0749131840 or www.balorartscentre.com
