FORMER Donegal player and manager Declan Bonner and Shaun Paul Barrett are expected to be formally unveiled as the new Donegal U21 and minor football managers respectively next week.
The County Board Executive met on Wednesday night to ratify the names of Bonner and Barrett which will now be put to delegates at the county committee meeting on Monday night.
Bonner, who was minor manager for the last two years, beat off the challenge of Shaun Paul Barrett (Milford), Paddy J McGinley (Naomh Columba) and John McGinley (Glenswilly) to succeed Maxi Curran as U21 manager.
Meanwhile, Barrett went head-to-head with the current Donegal U17 manager Brian McCabe (St Naul’s) for the Minor job.
Meanwhile, Burt’s Ardel McDermott is the new Donegal hurling manager. He takes over from Ray Durack.
