Harps rue missed chances against league leaders Cork

Finn Harps 0 Cork City 2

Finn Harps will rue their missed chances as Cork City inflicted a third defeat in-a-row for the Donegal men at Finn Park.

The Harps had massive chances in the first half, with Patrick Ferry having two big chances along with a Matthew Makinson header, but only once in those three occasions did they hit the target.

Cork took the lead with their first shot on target as Sean Murray headed home from Greg Bolger’s corner just after the hour mark.

And the unbeaten league leaders hit their second goal when Noe Baba made a mistake at the back and 16-year-old Jaden Umeh capitalised on the mistake and 1-0n-1 with Tim Hiemer, curled the ball past the German ‘keeper.

The loss leaves the Harps joint-second at full-time, although a full round of fixtures begins later tonight.
