Walker airlifted from Glengesh Pass

DONEGAL Mountain Rescue Team was called to the Glengesh Pass near Glencolmcille on Saturday afternoon to assist a member of a walking group who had sustained a leg injury during a hike.

The Sligo based Rescue 118 Coastguard Helicopter was called in to assist DMRT, and the man was flown to Sligo Hospital.

A spokesperson for DMRT said the majority of its team members was in Donegal town for its annual fundraising collection, and following their mission to Glengesh returned there to continue collecting for what is a very valued service.
