EXTENSIVE storm damage and a lack of qualified staff have led to a delay in the reopening of popular attraction Waterworld.
The water park in Bundoran was scheduled to reopen on April 9 ahead of Easter after two years of closure due to Covid-19.
However the management of the facility has confirmed that Waterworld will not reopen due to damage caused to a slide tower and a shortage of staff.
Bundoran Seaweed Bath will also remain closed.
A rescheduled date has not yet been announced and management has apologised for any inconvenience caused to visitors and families.
A spokesperson for the facility said, “Due to recent storm damage of the Whizzer tower, shortage of materials and availability of suitably qualified staff, Waterworld and Bundoran Seaweed Baths will not be in a position to open on April 9 as previously advertised.
“The team regrets the disappointment that this will cause to our loyal guests who we know were looking forward to returning to Waterworld and Bundoran Seaweed Baths however the safety and comfort of our guests is the highest of our priorities and we will not compromise on this.
“Please keep an eye to our websites (www.waterworldbundoran.com & www.bundoranseaweedbaths.com) and Facebook pages (www.facebook.com/waterworldbundoran and www.facebook.com/bundoranseaweedbaths ) for the latest updates on reopening,” they added.
