FINN Harps have signed Ruairi Keating and Regan Donelon on season-long loans from Sligo Rovers.

Keating (19) scored six goals in fourteen appearances for Harps in an initial loan move last season before he was reinstated as a Sligo player where he has featured in league and European matches last term.

Donelon, a left-sided player, was also part of the Rovers squad for much of last year.

Harps are also expected to confirm the signing of winger Adam Clarke in the coming days while they would also like to add Frenchman Wilfried Tagbo to the squad before the end of the transfer window.

Harps Secretary John Campbell, who signed both players yesterday, said it had been a good day for the club.
“Ruairi scored six goals for us before being recalled to Sligo midway through last season while Regan has also done well for the club,” he said.

“Ideally, we’ll have another two players on board before the end of the transfer window which will Ollie Hogan and all involved with the club a serious boast ahead of the new season.”

Meanwhile, the Harps Secretary has indicated that he will relinquish his post at month’s AGM of the club.
The Kilcar native, who has served as Chairman and more recently Secretary at Finn Park over the past eight years, wants to concentrate his efforts on the Finn Harps Schools and Community Programme.

“We have 5,000 kids registered in 27 schools as part of the Finn Harps Schools and Community Programme. It’s something that I really enjoy and I want to give it more time.

“The job of secretary at a League of Ireland club has become a huge, huge job. It’s no longer a part-time job. I’ve spent the last three months working on the Licence application alone. It’s a horrendous workload,” Mr Campbell said.
