Over 1,300 Ukrainian students at Donegal schools

THE Department of Education has confirmed that, as of the end of the school year 2022 / 2023, 1,335 Ukrainian pupils had been enrolled in schools across Donegal. 

In Donegal, 868 Ukrainian pupils are enrolled in primary schools, while 467 pupils are attending secondary school here.

The figure has increased from June when 1,326 Ukrainian pupils were attending schools in Donegal.

Nationally, 15,625 Ukrainian pupils had been enrolled in schools across Ireland.

Out of that figure, 10,141 of these pupils had been accommodated in primary schools while 5,484 pupils had enrolled in post-primary schools.

Data indicated an enrolment rate of 88% among Ukrainian children aged 5-18.
