GAA President Jarlath Burns has confirmed that Michael Murphy is part of the new Football Review Committee.
The Glenswilly clubman is believed to be the only recently retired player on the committee.
In his programme notes ahead of the League Final last Sunday, Burns wrote: “Gaelic Football has no shortage of critics. And they will say Gaelic football has no shortage of issues.
“However, what unites all football fans is the feeling that the game has the potential to be something special.
“This is what is motivating the new Football Review Committee which is being chaired by Dublin’s Jim Gavin and contains some of the best minds on the game in people like Colm Collins, Malachy O’Rourke, Eamonn Fitzmaurice, James Horan and Michael Murphy.
“The FRC have wasted no time in addressing the task of examining football and assessing what possible changes could be considered to improve the game.”
