A YOUNG Donegal singer and his band have just been confirmed to support one of the biggest acts in pop music Live At The Marquee in Cork.

In last week’s People Like You (May 27) we met Mountcharles singer Ben Sheridan (18) who is a member of the boy band Taken.

The band was formed last September by manager Patrick Fogarty who scouted four young individual singer songwriters to form Taken.

With already a JLS support slot confirmed for this year’s Rose Of Tralee International Festival, the members of Taken have just found out that they will be supporting The Wanted on June 16 thanks to the invitation of Aiken Promotions.

English/Irish boy band the wanted have consistently stayed on top of the charts since they first formed in 2009 with their Dance influenced songs such as I Found You, Chasing The Sun and Battleground.

The Wanted have also been one of the few pop bands from the UK or Ireland to break America with households names such as TV host and actress Ellen DeGeneres promoting them heavily.

This is another major step for Ben the young Irish band Taken, who are managed by Patrick Fogarty.

Ben’s father, Peter Sheridan said: “We couldn’t be more delighted for Ben and the boys. Ben is doing something he loves and hopefully, with hard work, it will pay off. You couldn’t ask for more.”
