More roadworks ahead as dual carriageway to partially close

APRIL looks set to be another month of traffic problems in Letterkenny as the dual carriageway will be partially closed for a period of time.

Donegal County Council has recently confirmed that the N13 outbound dual carriageway to the Manor Roundabout will be closed for one week in April to allow for resurfacing works.

The L5454 road to Dromore Lower will also be closed to traffic.

In a second phase of resurfacing works, the N13 from Lurgybrack to the Dry Arch Roundabout will also be closed during the same time.

The works are set to take place from 7pm to 7am, from April 16 to 20. Notice of the works was advertised by Donegal County Council in the Donegal News and motorists are being advised of a number of extensive diversions and alternative routes to follow during the roadworks.

In relation to the dual carriageway closure, traffic leaving Letterkenny for Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will be diverted out the dual carriageway to Manor Roundabout to travel back via the inbound carriageway.

Letterkenny bound traffic from Manor Roundabout will be diverted to the dual carriageway which will be used as a single lane carriageway from Tirmnagh Junction.

Outbound traffic heading towards Manor Roundabout coming from Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will be diverted to the Polestar Roundabout before travelling back along the N14 Four Lane Road.

In relation to the closure of the N13 from Lurgybrack to Dry Arch Roundabout, outbound Letterkenny to Lurgybrack/Ballybofey traffic will be diverted along the dual carriageway to Manor Roundabout to travel back in again.

Inward bound traffic to Letterkenny from Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will be diverted to the Polestar Roundabout via the L114 Leck and L1094 Cullion roads. Inward bound traffic from Derry/Letterkenny will be diverted to the L1114 at Trimragh Junction, then via the Leck and Cullion roads.

Outbound traffic to Derry/Lifford, from Lurgybrack/Ballybofey will be also diverted to the Polestar via Leck and Cullion roads, then the Four Lane road.
