Milford gears up for annual Truck Fest

The North West Truck Fest will return to Milford this weekend with thousands expected to attend. The Festival, now in its 11th year, will be held this Saturday and Sunday with proceeds this year going towards the MS Donegal Branch and Parents and Friends of Abbey Village Kilmacrennan. There will be music on site all weekend at the Milford Mart Grounds. The annual fundraising dance will be held in The Mulroy Woods Hotel on the Saturday night with music from a country DJ followed by Hugo McLoughlin and Eldorado and admission is €8. Highland Radio’s David James will be on stage from 2pm to 4pm on Sunday afternoon. There will be a wide range of prizes up for grabs across a whole host of categories including the Decky Holian Perpetual Trophy which will be presented to the overall winner of the truck show.

Other prizes include the best working truck before 2005, the best working truck from 2005 to 2010, 2010 to 2015 and 2015 to 2018, the best rigid, and the best small fleet. Other attractions include face painting, a home baking stall, a mini digger competition, and a Bric a Brac stall. Admission to the Truck Fest is €5 for adults and children under 10 go free. The gates will open on Saturday evening and 11am on Sunday. The event will be topped off with a truck convoy through Milford Main Street at 5pm on Sunday.
