FINN Harps captain Kevin McHugh recently became only the seventh player to play 350 games for the club.

In the 3-0 defeat to Waterford United at the end of June, McHugh made his 350th appearance for the Ballybofey club, joining an elite band of names alongside Jonathan Minnock, Paddy McGrenaghan, Jim Sheridan, Con McLaughlin, Declan Boyle and Brendan Bradley.

On Friday night, the Killea native made his 357th appearance in Harps colours. He is well on course to break the 400-game barrier, with Minnock the only player to have done so.

McHugh has netted 168 goals for Harps.

The 1-0 defeat to Athlone a few weeks ago saw Ciaran Coll become the latest player to play 100 games for Harps. The St Johnston man is the Harps vice captain and has had another steady season in the left-back spot he’s made his own.

Coll became the 59th player in Harps history to reach that milestone, coming just a few weeks after James Doherty joined the 100 club, the right-back getting there in the game against Mervue last month.

Tommy Bonnar (94) and Mark Forker (91) are also getting close to the 100-game mark.
