McConalogue dismisses speculation over EU Commissioner role

The Minister for Agriculture, Food and Marine, Charlie McConalogue, has described suggestions linking him with the role of EU Commissioner that will be filled next year as ‘idle speculation’.

The Minister has moved to dismiss the suggestion after some media outlets have been linking him to the role in recent weeks.

“This is just idle speculation. I want to reassure the people of Donegal that I am fully focused on representing them to the best of my ability in the Dáil, and that I intend contesting the next general election,” Minister McConalogue said.
