McConalogue confirms over €24m for Donegal national roads and greenways for 2023

Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine and Donegal T.D., Charlie McConalogue, has this afternoon confirmed over €23m in funding for Donegal’s national roads and greenways for 2023.

This announcement follows the Minister confirmation in recent weeks of €38m for Donegal’s regional and local roads and almost €1m for Donegal’s rural roads and laneways, a combined funding of €62m for Donegal’s roads infrastructure in 2023.

Commenting, the Minister said, “This funding announcement today for Donegal’s national roads and greenways is important and, at one of the highest allocations in the country, is another major investment in the County. Our roads are the key to Donegal’s infrastructure and we must continue to maintain and upgrade where possible to keep Donegal safe and accessible.

“Our greenways are a wonderful tourist attraction and amenity for communities and I am delighted to confirm that over €2m will be invested in our greenways in 2023, including just under €1m in Inishowen greenways alone.

“Some of the major investment projects confirmed today are €1.5m for the Ten-T route and €5m combined for N56 Letterilly to Kilraine Junction. I thank Donegal County Council and all our Councillors for their continued work,” said Minister McConalogue.
