Man to appear before court after €50,000 worth of drugs seized

A MAN is due to appear before Letterkenny District Court after 25,000 prescription tablets, with an estimated street value of €50,000, was seized at a property in the town.

As part of an ongoing operation targeting the sale and distribution of prescription tablets, gardaí and the Health Products Regulatory Authority conducted a search at a residential property in Letterkenny on Sunday, March 23.

“A total of 25,000 tablets were seized in the operation,” a garda spokesperson said.

“Investigations are ongoing.”

Meanwhile, in a further search of the house, a quantity of cannabis was recovered.

“A man, aged in his 20s, was arrested and detained at a Garda Station in the Donegal division under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984,” the spokesperson continued.

“He was subsequently charged to appear before Letterkenny District Court at a future date.”
