GARDAÍ are appealing for information after a man was struck from behind by an unknown male in Ballybofey, causing him to fall as a result of the blow.
On Sunday, February 2 at approximately 2.35am gardaí were alerted to the fact that a man had been injured and required an ambulance at Navenny Street, Ballybofey.
Upon their arrival at the scene, gardaí spoke to a man who was being attended to by ambulance personnel. He reported having being struck from behind by an unknown male and he fell as a result of the blow.
The man was taken to hospital to receive medical treatment. His injuries are not believed to be life threatening in nature.
A garda spokesperson said: “We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in the area of Navenny Street with a dash cam between 2am and 2.30am on that date to make contact with Gardaí. If anybody witnessed the incident, we ask them to contact Gardaí in Letterkenny on (074) 9167100.”
