A MAN who died following a workplace accident in Buncrana last week has been named locally as Martin McCallion.
Martin McCallion, of Lisnakelly, Buncrana, sustained serious injuries in an incident that occurred at a haulage transportation company in the town last Thursday.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and Mr McCallion was transferred to Letterkenny University Hospital.
However, he succumbed to his injuries on Saturday morning.
The Health and Safety Authority is aware of the fatal incident and an investigation has been launched.
Mr McCallion’s remains will be reposing at his home today, Tuesday, August 26 from 12 noon where all are welcome to pay their respects.
Removal from there on Thursday morning, August 28 at 10.15am to St. Mary’s Church, Cockhill for requiem Mass at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining graveyard.

Mr McCallion is the beloved husband of Martina (nee Walker), much loved father of Joanne (Shane), Christopher (Roberta), Jennifer (Anthony) and Mark, loving son of Anna and Barney, and dear brother of Enda, Gareth, Patrick and Brian.
Deeply regretted and will be forever missed by his loving wife, daughters, sons, mother, father, brothers, grandchildren, wider family circle and friends.
