Sean MacCumhaill’s 0-15 Carndonagh 0-9
MACCUMHAILL’S came out on top against Carndonagh on Sunday at MacCumhaill Park after a dominant first half in a game that may be our Intermediate Hurling final in a couple of weeks.
The Twin Towns men got off to a flyer and were eight points ahead at the break thanks to Lee Henderson’s four points and a couple from Anthony Patton and Fintan Griffin.
Ger Cunningham got the other score as Luke White posted Carndonagh’s only score of the opening half an hour.
But he notched up a further six frees in the second half along with points from Paddy Monagle and Jack McLaughlin, while Patton hit three more for the home side along with a Gavin Browne double.
After Carndonagh got their first Championship win in a close encounter with Dungloe two days previous, it was a tight turnaround for the Inishowen side who again had a long enough journey to make for this game which was due to be played in round 1 but was postponed due to the death of Bernard Lafferty.
