Lough Swilly RNLI tasked to Culdaff following reports of flares

LOUGH Swilly RNLI was tasked yesterday by Malin Head Coast Guard Radio at 12.40pm to Culdaff Bay after reports of a flare seen in the area.
They were assisted by Rescue 118 and units from the Greencastle Coast Guard.
After an extensive search of the area, all SAR units were stood down and the volunteer crew returned to Buncana pier to refuel and make ready to return to service.
A spokesperson for the Lough Swilly RNLI said, “Remember, if your in difficulty in or on the water or see someone in trouble, dial 999 or 112 and ask for the Coast Guard.”
