Lifebuoy stolen from Donegal Waterbus

GARDAÍ are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a lifebuoy from Donegal Bay Waterbus.

The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, December 1 at 1.15am.

Gardaí say that a man got onto the Waterbus and he removed a life buoy. He then exited the Waterbus with it. He was wearing a white/light coloured shirt, a navy bodywarmer, blue jeans and brown shoes. He had brown hair and possibly aged in his late 20s/early 30s.

The lifebuoy was found the following day, and is still fit for use.

However, gardaí say they are anxious to progress the investigation.

“We appeal to anybody who may have travelled in the area of Quay Street or within the car parks on that street and who may have observed this man to make contact with us. If anybody was in that area with a dash-cam between 1am and 1.30am on Sunday, December 1 to please make the footage available to gardaí. If anybody can assist with this investigation in any way we ask them to contact Gardaí in Ballyshannon on (071) 9858530.”
