Letterkenny woman tells of her fear as her rapist is due for early release from prison

A LETTERKENNY woman has told of her turmoil and fear after learning the man jailed for raping her is to be released from prison in April of next year – three years early.

Dominique Meehan was brutally attacked by Keith Hearne at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Blanchardstown on July 4, 2015.

Ms Meehan had been volunteering at a Arcade-Con gaming convention, setting up a projector in a screening room, when Hearne locked the door, tied her up, raped her and threatened to kill her with a knife.

Hearne, of Allerton Drive, Dublin, pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, one count of oral rape and one count of falsely imprisoning Ms Meehan.

He was sentenced to 12 years imprisonment in June 2017.
