International adventurer Ben Fogle made his first visit to Donegal last week after making contact with the Donegal Roaders, Denis Ferry, Leslie O Donnell and Paul Doherty.
Ben is well known for presenting adventure and wildlife programmes and launches his new TV programme, The Great African Migration, on Friday night. He is also a keen adventurer having crossed the Atlantic on a rowing boat and completed the marathon de sables (5 marathons in 5 days in the Sahara desert).
When Ben heard of the sea crossing the Donegal lads had completed he got in touch and decided to make his first to visit to Donegal.
He was picked up at Belfast airport and taken to Dunfanaghy where the Donegal Roaders launched the amphibious Land Rover and sailed around Horn Head. Ben was blown away by the scenery and said he will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.
He is currently writing a book about Land Rover which will feature many unique Land Rovers throughout the world and after sailing the choppy seas along with Wild Atlantic Way Denis, Les and Paul have given Ben plenty of material and stunning photographs showing Donegal in all it’s glory.
