Heartbreak after man loses wedding ring on Donegal beach

A MAN who lost his wedding ring on a beach in Donegal when he was playing with his children has said he is heartbroken.
Chris Copeland was in Rossnowlagh with his wife and two sons on Monday when the ring slipped off his finger at around 6pm.
“I was in the ocean playing catch with my sons and I don’t know when but it slipped off my finger,” Chris told the Donegal News.
“We spent an hour looking in the water and last night the four of us went back down when the tide was out with flashlights. I am hoping someone with a metal detector will find it.”
Chris is a Pastor in a Church in Galway where he lives and was staying in the area for business meetings.
He married his wife Joi 22 years ago last July and the couple, who are both from Colorado in the US, have been living in Ireland since last summer.
They moved over for work purposes and are hoping to stay here as long as possible.
Describing the ring Chris said: “It has a wide silver band in the centre and a small gold band around the edges. On the inside there is an inscription ‘Forever Yours, Joi’.
“It is not worth a lot but it holds a lot of sentimental value. It’s heartbreaking.”
The family have grown fond of Rossnowlagh and visited the beach just last month when Chris’ sons were taking part in a surf camp.
If anyone finds the ring they can contact Chris through Facebook.
