Oil burner thefts: Gardaí want to speak to man seen in area

GARDAÍ are investigating the theft of oil burner motors and ignition starters from a number of properties in the area of Earlsfort, Buncrana.

The thefts are believed to have occurred between approximately 3.30am and 4.30am on the morning of Sunday last, May 25.

Gardaí are appealing for dash-cam footage from the area from between 3am and 5am on that date.

“We are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have observed a man in the area on foot who was of slim build and wearing a hat.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who may have observed suspicious activity, vehicles or people in the area in the early hours of Sunday morning to get in touch with Gardaí in Buncrana on 074-9320540,” a Garda spokesperson said.

“Any relevant information may be passed on to the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666 111.

“Should anyone come across these types of items for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí,” the spokesperson added.
