GALLAGHERS HOTEL in Letterkenny has been sold to an investor from the middle east with McGettigan Management services having been appointed to run the hotel by the new owners.
CBRE have confirmed the sale of the landmark hotel which has been in receivership for a number of years.
The extensive 82 bedroom hotel was sold on the instructions of Kieran Wallace, KPMG, Receiver and purchased by a Middle East based private investor who has added another hotel to an expanding portfolio of Irish hotels.
Gallaghers Hotel is a long-established hostelry benefiting from a substantial daily footfall and is in close proximity to the town’s main residential and commercial area.
The very well appointed hotel was constructed to incorporate 82 en suite guest bedrooms
and designed for ease of management with extensive food and beverage offerings. Located on
the ground floor, Ard na cGeapairí Bistro and Carvery is the hotels main restaurant and has
capacity for 100 patrons. The Inis Meain Room, at mezzanine level, is a venue for private
functions. McCarry’s Bar, situated on the ground floor, is very popular with the locals and guests.
Kate’s Bar is also situated on the ground floor and is finished with traditional furnishings. The hotel has five function/meeting rooms ranging from a small interview room to The Gaoth Dobhair Suite Ballroom which can accommodate 220 delegates theatre style.
