Funding granted to tackle dereliction in Letterkenny

FUNDING of €4 million has been made available to tackle dereliction in Letterkenny.

The funding has been made available under Call Three of the Urban Regeneration and Development Fund (URDF).

Cllr Ciaran Brogan confirmed the news and said the funding will enable Donegal County Council to acquire vacant and derelict properties in the centre of the town and actively bring those properties onto the market for sale.

Cllr Brogan said, “The priority use for the property is for residential to help tackle the housing crisis.

“In Letterkenny, a survey was carried out to consider the best way to prioritise the use of the funding to tackle these properties in most need of investment,” said Cllr Brogan.
