Five Donegal tax defaulters pay almost €500,000

 
 
FIVE people from County Donegal appear on the latest tax defaulters list having made settlements between them of almost €500,000.
The list covers settlements agreed with the Revenue Commissioners between July and September 2017. 
 
The largest settlement in the county was made by Sean McDonagh, Old Station, Railway Tavern Bar and Restaurant in Fahan at  €305,579 after a Revenue Audit found under-declaration of Income Tax, VAT and PAYE/PRSI/USC. 
 
Annagry-based photographer Pamela Bloe of 114 Loughanure made the next largest settlement from the county of €47,255.39. This followed a Revenue Audit which found under-declaration of VAT and Income Tax. 
 
Weight Management Consultant Nicola Ferry from Magheragallon, Derrybeg made a settlement of €42,896.28. This was after a Revenue Audit found under-declaration of Income Tax and VAT. 
 
Milford based farmer and undertaker Patrick Sweeney of Moyle Hill made a settlement of €41,691.91 after a Revenue Audit found non-declaration of Income Tax and PAYE/PRSI/USC. 
 
Dungloe based electrician Charles O’Donnell of 117 Fair Hill made a settlement of €36,850.28 on foot of a Revenue Audit. It found under-declaration of VAT. 
 
All five had paid their settlements by the end of September 2017.
 
Revenue said that the total settlement amount for the latest tax defaulters list came to €17,430,699. Of these 34 cases were for amounts exceeding €100,000, of which seven exceeded €500,000 and three of which exceeded €1m.
