Donegal’s latest tax defaulters pay over €750,000

TWO Donegal tax defaulters agreed settlements with the Revenue Commissioners for more than €750,000 according to the latest figures published today.

ELMcGettigan and Sons Ltd (now in liquidation) of Glebe, Kilmacrennan agreed a settlement of €733,639. The property developers/investors were found to have underdeclared Corporation Tax and VAT following a Revenue Audit.

The other local company was The Olde Castle Bar and Restaurant Donegal Ltd, 5 Wilson’s Creek, Rooseylongen, Donegal Town.

The restaurateurs agreed a settlement of €38,118.55 on foot of an underdeclaration of PAYE/PRSI and Corporation Tax being found following a Revenue Audit.

A total of 64 tax defaulters nation-wide have been named for the period from July 1 to September 30 of this year. The amount of settlements agreed including tax, penalties and interest was €12.7 million.
